The wood is natural and not treated. Cedar does not have to be treated but it is OK if you want to paint or stain the house. If you want to treat the house then we recommend a Thompsons water seal.

We recently purchased your Wooden Waterproof Feral Cat Shelter for Winter and Summer and love it! We need a feeding station but your small station is too large. We need it to house only one bowl so no more than 16 inch width (opening) then a depth of about 18 in and similar height. A peaked or simple sloped roof would be better than flat. So you small station narrowed to 16 inches would be perfect. Can you do this? If so what would it cost?

They are both in an area that receives shade from late morning on, to combat our severe summer temperatures and intense sun. The house is well built of durable natural materials, and we appreciate the long overhanging roof. One of our residents also sealed the wood to provide even a longer life. I was using a plastic tub on its side as a feeding area. Did not work to great. So worth the cost to have this cedar feeding station. It stays put in the wind and keeps the food and cats dry. (It was drizzling in the photo.). My “deck” cats will sometimes crawl in there to sleep. It looks great and was very easy to assemble. I am a 67 year old woman and did it myself.

It’s a rainy day here and if you zoom in you can see my large feral male inside waiting for a break in the weather. Him and his “wife” will sleep in it at night. It’s facing my house to avoid wind or rain blowing in. In the winter I’ll move my heat source into it. The overhang is great for days like today.

Aside from the fact that it's really beautiful, it literally took me 10 minutes to assemble - without referencing the directions (which I didn't find until assembly was nearly complete). The screws were already started in each piece - the only thing needed was to grab your screw gun and drive each screw home. Highly recommended.

Perfect for the 2 feral cats at our auto repair/gas station/convenience store that I have been feeding under cars/trucks and wood structures for about 1 year (wherever I could find a clean & safe area). They were just slightly shy about going in but that only lasted about 3 minutes. Now another large feral has joined the crew and it is slightly crowded, but they make due. I sealed it with a clear waterproof stain which looks great. I also used a staple gun and attached a heavy duty plastic dog house door flap on each side of the overhang just to add extra protection from wet weather; am contemplating adding one to the front also but really doesn't seem necessary. I also purchased outdoor heated dishes to put inside for the winter (one for each). The overhang is perfect and keeps food and cats dry. Having the feeding station on legs up off the ground is another awesome addition. If more cats join our crew for the winter I will buy another one as it makes life easier and safer for all. Don't hesitate to buy, these are great.

Had issues with assembling the product. Screws didn’t line up, or no holes to screw them in. Also, walls were not flush, would have had to caulk. However, The Cozy Cat Furniture’s customer service was WONDERFUL! Working with Kelly was great. She issued a return label for me, I took it apart, boxed it up and sent it back. I will definitely use Cozy Cat Furniture again! They get 5 stars!

I purchased this outdoor feeding station for the feral cats that come from the woods behind my house. I put it on the backside of my shed so they can come up and get food during the day. I also bought an ant-proof bowl for food and water that works perfectly with it. The food is kept dry and they have adapted well to coming up without fear now. It was easy to assemble, didn’t even need to read the instructions, self-explanatory. Definitely recommend for outdoor feeding of both dogs and cats. I don’t recommend leaving your own pets outdoors though. Pets are people too!

I recently purchased this outdoor cat feeding station. I was a little nervous about the assembly but all I needed was a power screwdriver. The individual pieces are marked with numbers so you know what goes where. The only exception was the roof, and at least in my case, there was definitely a right panel and a left panel. It took me a while to figure out that I needed to switch the panels to make it sit perfectly. I highly recommend using a water sealing protectant as indicated in the paperwork shipped with the product. It looked good to start but, once it was sealed, the real beauty of the wood became apparent.

This is a very good outdoor feeding station and easy to build. It took me 20 mins to finish the build. I built it almost 3 weeks ago and now the cats get used to it to get their food. So the food and water won't be on the sunlight. One thing is this is not a full 100% cedar pet house and I was having an impression this should be 100% cedar. They did not put it on the detail. If you are looking for full 100% cedar cat house, you may need to think.
