I have some cats that show up in the back of our yard, so I needed a little weatherproof area to put their food when it rains. Otherwise, the food just gets wet. It makes it hard to feed them in the rain.

I saw many other "weatherproof" cat houses for sale, but then the reviews would say that they're not truly weatherproof. That's how I ended up finding this cat house. They're made to order, so it took a little bit for it to actually arrive. It was pretty easy to put together. You will need a screw gun. Everything is already drilled and lines are drawn on it where to put everything.

The cat house isn't painted, but I decided to paint ours up like our house. It turned out really cute, especially since it has overlapping paneling like our house, shed, and pool house. It did make it obvious how faded our old paint has gotten, though.

I waited to write this review because we were getting rain today, and I wanted to see if it would hold up. And it has. We have a nice dry spot in the back where the kitties can eat, cozy and safe from the rain.

I also got the 6" legs for the bottom to keep it off the ground. I've actually spotted one of our cats sleeping UNDER the house sometimes.

It's lucky that they sent some extra screws in the package, because two of the screws I got turned out to have deformed heads. I ended up having just enough screws to put it together.

The house isn't that heavy, but it is an awkward weight, so I would recommend moving it with two people.

Very happy with our purchase, and the kitties are happy, too.

Love this product! Put it together in 20 minutes. I added insulation and a flexible, soft heated mat for my outdoor cats that feel confined in other types of enclosures. We don't own any pets of our but we have plenty of night time visitors and this works really well to keep food dry in case of rain or snow. It was really easy to put together with the simple plans and pre-drilled holes. My only suggestion is to provide slightly longer screws for the roof sections. Otherwise everything was just right. I also treated the roof with FlexSeal for protection of the wood over time. It probably doesn't need it but it will certainly extend the life of the roof.

Assembly was easy and build quality very good. We bought the large one.
I did insulate underneath, the side walls and roof inside then finished it off with a nice vinyl tile for east cleanup.
I added two 8"×10" pieces of plexiglass as a wind break since we get a lot of wind in our back yard and it worked out great.
I usually put a heated water bowl out but with the heated seedling mat underneath the food and water bowls there was no need so far.I wish we would have bought one of these sooner.

I recently purchased this feeding station for outdoor cats. I was a little nervous about the assembly but all I needed was a power screwdriver. The individual pieces are marked with numbers so you know what goes where. The only exception was the roof, and at least in my case, there was definitely a right panel and a left panel. It took me a while to figure out that I needed to switch the panels to make it sit perfectly. I highly recommend using a water sealing protectant as indicated in the paperwork shipped with the product. It looked good to start but, once it was sealed, the real beauty of the wood became apparent.

So the food and water won't be on the sunlight. One thing is this is not a full 100% cedar construction and I was having an impression this should be 100% cedar. They did not include it in the details. You may need to think if you are looking for a full 100% cedar cat house.
