The carpet is so soft, the color is pleasing, and, above all, the craftsmanship has surpassed all my expectations leaving me flabbergasted as to how symmetrical and finely made this cat tree is. The wood is sanded, leaving no splinters exposed to the cats, and the carpet, not only perfectly set, but also does not shred itself upon your touch or your cat's claws. A combination of the engineering, brought to justice by the amazing craftsmanship, is so exact that building the tree was virtually effortless, like putting together a child's puzzle. The simplicity of the plan creates a natural path of play and relaxation for the felines. My favorite part about the planning is that it leaves room for your own fine tuning, allowing for a unique accommodation specified by your cat's needs. Alas, this cat tree is not perfect. My main concern is the shaky support the base provides. If the base were longer, the shaking would be mitigated. Everything else, if constructed correctly, is held ever so tightly by the specially made bolts. This planning flaw does not hinder the tree's safety. Lastly, I think the hammock at the bottom is superfluous, but that might be because my cats haven't touched it. To each his own. I would rather have a tube where the rope is and a platform directly underneath. I suppose I can change that myself.
The cats - Ana Banana has been lounging on the highest post for a few hours now (I don't know whether it's because she likes it or because she can't get down. She is very complacent.), and Tiger Tom sporadically plays around, jumping all over while pawing at the hanging toys. He has just found his lounging spot.

My European (Dutch) handyman, who works mainly in Malibu & is a terrible snob, told me whilst he was putting it together that it seemed very good quality to him and very attractive -- and he's not even a cat. He had it up in about 30 minutes. The cats, a pair of 4 month old European Thai boys, were a bit reticent at first, so I had to put them on it a couple of times and show them the way about (how to get up & down w/o having to jump so far that one falls). Since then it seems to be a big hit, as they've taken to napping (together) in the little house and bat the balls around so much that they've already managed to chew through one of the ball strings (I retied it in place). Haven't managed to get them in the hammock yet, which is crazy, because as babies they had hammocks in their cage & spent a lot of time in them.
