This tree was packaged beautifully and is engineered very well.
My cats (12) and I are disappointed that I did not get this in REAL CARPET. They cannot seem to scratch on either the faux fur or the fine sisal rope.

Instead of playing on it, they walk around it :(

In general, we really like this cat tower… And so do our cats. We are disappointed, however, by the reinforced scratching posts wrapped with natural sisal rope. The rope does not cover the full length of the post so when our cats use them for scratching - which they do quite a bit – they also tear up the fabric above and below the rope. It makes a mess and it doesn't look good.

I purchased this cat tree for my four cats as a back up to one that is starting to fall apart after years of use. The tree came in one box - a very hefty 40+lbs. It only took about 30-40 minutes to assemble and I am quite happy with the overall construction. There was one missing piece - a female component for a screw that would have affixed the rope toy. Since my cats don't use that kind of toy, I am not bothered by that omission. I like that it comes with a stabilizing band to attach it to the wall if need be. I find that it is plenty sturdy without attaching it since I have it in a corner. My little guy loves it and spends hours on the top-most perch. The biggest cat I have is a good 16lbs and he has no trouble climbing around on bottom half but is leery of getting on the top two perches since they are only supported in the middle and do wiggle somewhat when he is on them. All of them love the cubby and hate the hammock. For the price, I would purchase again.
