The cat tower I bought is heavy and made of wood and heavy carpet. The base is a thick plywood and the pole is 2 2x4s. The carpet wrapping the 2x4s is loose enough to create a perception of roundness but seems attached quite solidly.

While this is not a beautiful piece of furniture, it will certainly last and stand the rest of abuse. It’s a huge upgrade from most pet products in that sense.

I was excited about receiving the Cozy Cat Furniture Carpet Cat Scratching Post because my guy will only scratch on carpeted posts, and he is relatively large, so he needs a tall post to stretch out on that will hold him steadily as he scratches. Finding all of these characteristics is getting more difficult by the year, so when I went to replace his post now, I was searching for a while. I was a little concerned about the price of the Carpet Cat Post, but my cat knew it was his immediately as soon as I took it out of the box, and he began scratching at the base, and soon the post itself. It is sturdy, carpeted, tall, and will hopefully last him a few years until I have to replace this one. But now I know where to go to buy a new one.

My 2 Maine coons need a tall post, and they won't go near sisal. This is the second carpeted tall cat scratching post I've bought from Cozy Cat. It took my 2 cats more than 2 years to scratch the first one to shreds. All 4 sides. I kept turning it as they shredded each side. This is a very sturdy item, and If you have a large cat, look no further. You will not find another as well made. Nothing skimpy about it. My cats use it many times a day.

On the pictures, Joey who weighs 18 lbs (no fat on him) is using the scratching post. If he stood up fully on his hind legs, he would be taller than the post. But he has adapted and stands up only half-way. ???? He loves the carpeted post. We have a post with sisal, which he refuses to use. Thanks to Cozy Cat Furniture for making such a fine product.

I liked this bcuz I have two 6-month-old Ragdoll kittens, who are going to be big boys. They don't like the rope posts.
This one had carpet and is taller than the one I currently have. Unfortunately, the boys don't like it that much. The one I have is covered in a loop / berber style carpet and they love it. This one not so much, seems like they can't get a good grip on it, their claws sort of slide out. I'm hoping it will grow on them as they get bigger and want to climb more.

I keep waiting for a tall, carpeted bed/platform--with edges and four support posts for stability--so my cats can watch me work at the desk or dining table without walking all over, or laying down on either papers, beads, or puzzle pieces. But the problem is that when he scratches, the fibers of the carpet come right out and get all over the place.
